Shea Smith Breaux, MA
Shea Smith Breaux is the Louisiana Client Manager at SFWG, where she supports schools with federal meal program compliance and operations. She holds an MA in Communication and brings several years of experience managing CACFP and SFSP programs at the sponsor level. Before joining SFWG, Shea taught communication at Louisiana State University, including an original upper-level course she developed titled Food & Communication.
Food insecurity is deeply personal to Shea, and her own childhood experiences fuel her commitment to ensuring every student has access to comforting, reliable meals at school. She’s grateful to now be “on the other side of the lunch table,” helping create programs that provide the same sense of security she once needed. Her heart warms when she walks into a Louisiana cafeteria serving catfish and gumbo — a reminder of the culture, community, and comfort that school meals can bring.
Outside of work, Shea loves cooking and trying new foods with her chef-spouse, traveling to places new and old, and challenging her family to annual reading competitions.
